We understand contemporary dance as an inclusive and diverse discipline that embraces a large number of techniques and styles.
Our Professional Contemporary Dance Program does not focus on learning these techniques or styles, but rather, focuses on the study of the very principles of movement.
We are committed to bring up versatile professionals, offering them the tools that give them security and confidence when exploring any movement code, in short, we offer them the keys to continue learning and expanding their personal potential in a self-taught way.
Acrobatics, Partnering or Contact Improvisation are increasingly common languages in the vocabulary and current scene of contemporary dance and for this reason they are part of the program as specific disciplines.
In this program we are also committed to the creative and compositional application of the study of movement and for this reason this practice takes 40% of the training through the subjects’ Improvisation / composition and choreography and creation laboratory.
At the end of the training program, each student will receive a certificate that certifies the contents, subjects and number of hours studied.
Science and movement.
The most recent research on the body at the service of physical and technical preparation.
Individualization of learning.
Against homogenization, we propose an emancipatory education that enhances the individual qualities of each person.
We are commited to an education where the pleasure of learning and the enjoyment through movement are above all else.
Our vision of the body and movement is rooted in the very referents of "release", understood as a paradigm of movement. Mabel Todd, Lulu Sweigard, Ida Rolf, Alexander, Feldenkrais, Joan Sinner, Susan Klein, are some of our references in the search for efficiency in movement, based on the techniques they developed, but above all on their research and reflections on development of the movement potential.
To all this wisdom we incorporate the most current knowledge about anatomy, biomechanics, motor development, brain and learning. Eric Franklin, Tomas Mayers, Leopold Busquet, Carla Stecco, Schultz and Feitis, Blandine Clais, Kapandji, and Bonnie Baindbrigre Cohen, among many others, bring scientific rigor to our vision about dance training methodology and to our movement pedagogy in general.
