ABOUT THE PROGRAM
TRAIN. RESEARCH. CREATE. PERFORM
TEN WEEKS is an intensive contemporary dance program developed by Tejido Conectivo in Madrid, focused on somatic-based contemporary dance training, artistic research, creation and performance.
Over ten weeks, participants immerse themselves in a sustained physical and artistic process in which training and creation are deeply interconnected.
Explore the many creative pathways within somatic practice, creating a space where
your authentic movement can emerge, your own sense of beauty can unfold,
and a deeper understanding of yourself as a mover and artist can grow.
The program combines contemporary dance training, somatic practices, contact improvisation, partnering, acrobatics and choreographic research. Across the regular weeks, participants engage in different approaches to contemporary dance alongside technical and somatic practices that develop body awareness, movement efficiency, adaptability, coordination and physical availability.
Alongside this sustained physical practice, participants have dedicated time for artistic research and creation throughout the program. Two intensive workshop weeks deepen specific areas of the creative process, focusing on improvisation, composition, dramaturgy, movement research and creative development.
Throughout the program, each student develops their own creative project, moving from an initial question, idea or movement research towards the creation of an original short work to be shared through final site-specific performances.
TWO PILLARS. ONE ARTISTIC PROCESS.
TEN WEEKS is built around two interconnected areas of practice: Physical & Somatic Training and Artistic Research & Creation. Rather than functioning as separate parts of the program, they continuously inform one another: training generates questions, research opens new possibilities, and those discoveries become material for creation.
PHYSICAL & SOMATIC PRACTICE
UNDERSTAND THE BODY. EXPAND THE MOVEMENT.
Physical and somatic practice at TEN WEEKS approaches the body as a living, adaptable and perceptive system, continuously reorganising itself in relation to gravity, space, other bodies and the environment.
Through contemporary dance, somatic practices, Contact Improvisation, partnering, acrobatics and movement exploration, participants develop greater awareness of their physical organisation while exploring efficiency, connectivity, coordination, weight, support and movement possibilities
Different approaches coexist throughout the program, offering multiple perspectives and providing dancers with tools rather than formulas.
TOOLS RATHER THAN FORMULAS.
ARTISTIC RESEARCH & CREATION
FROM MOVEMENT PRACTICE TO ARTISTIC PRACTICE.
Artistic research and creation develop throughout the entire program, emerging in dialogue with physical and somatic practice.
Improvisation, experimentation and movement research allow questions and discoveries from physical practice to become artistic material. The two intensive workshop weeks deepen this process through specific approaches to improvisation, composition, dramaturgy, movement research and creation.
Throughout the ten weeks, each student progressively develops their own creative project, making choices about the form, structure and direction their research takes.
Rather than imposing a particular artistic language or format, TEN WEEKS provides the tools, time and context for each participant to discover what their project needs to become.
FROM RESEARCH TO CREATION.
CREATE
YOUR OWN WORK
Throughout TEN WEEKS, each student develops their own artistic project, transforming questions, movement research and creative discoveries into an original short work.
The process encourages each participant to make their own artistic decisions and develop a personal approach to movement, composition, dramaturgy, space and the relationship with an audience.

SOLO · DUET · TRIO · GROUP
The work does not need to be a solo. Students may choose to create a solo, duet, trio or group piece, collaborating with other participants according to the needs of their artistic proposal.
SITE-SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE
The final stage of the creative process moves beyond the studio into a site-specific context, where architecture, circulation, environment and the presence of the audience become part of the work.
Each project is developed in dialogue with the chosen space, allowing the context itself to influence its form, composition and relationship with the audience.
