OUR VISION

We understand Contemporary Dance as an inclusive and diverse art form that embraces a large number of disciplines, techniques, styles and bodies.

Tejido Conectivo Professional Education Program Contemporary Dance, beyond focusing on the teaching of a specific technique or style, focuses on the study of the basic principles of movement. Our idea is not to form a specific dancer profile, but to share knowledge and encourage autonomy, embrace diversity and enhance individuality, while cultivating the values of teamwork.

We are committed to form versatile professionals, offering them tools that provide them with security and confidence both when exploring any code or movement style, and when engaging on an individual or collective creation process. We offer our students the keys to continue learning and expanding their personal potential in a self-taught way.

Regarding the body-mind preparation, we propose a work based on the principles of the Release, with a somatic approach focused on balance and the development of consciousness. We combine science and experience, integrating the knowledge of the oldest referents with that of the most recent researchers.

On a technical level, our program includes those techniques and disciplines that are part of the common vocabulary of the contemporary dance scene today, such as Floorwork, Acrobatics, Partering and Contact Improvisation.

At the performance level, our program offers something very unique and exclusive, the possibility of growing not only as a performer but also as a creator. We offer the contents through the subjects Improvisation/ Composition and Movement Research and Creation. We also offer the time for our students to practice and investigate on their own, and most importantly, we offer the space for them to show their processes every month.

OUR IDEALS

Individualization of learning.

We propose an emancipatory education that enhances the individual qualities of each person. Our idea is not to form a specific dancer profile but to share knowledge and promote autonomy and individuality, embracing diversity while enhancing the values of teamwork.

Experience & Science

We combine science and experience, integrating the knowledge of the oldest referents with that of the most recent researchers.

Pleasure and enjoyment.

We advocate for an education where the pleasure of learning and the enjoyment of movement are cultivated and transmitted.

OUR REFERENTS

Our body and movement philosophy is rooted in the very referents of the “Release”, understood as a movement paradigm. Mabel todd, Lulu Sweigard, Ida rolf, Alexander, Feldenkrais, Joan Sinner, Susan Klein, are some of our references in terms of the search for efficiency in movement, based on the techniques they developed, but above all, on their research and reflections on mechanics and the development of movement potential.

To all this wisdom we incorporate the most current knowledge on anatomy, biomechanics, motor development and neuroeducation. Eric Franklin, Tomas Mayers, Leopold Busquet, Carla Stecco, Schultz and Feitis, Blandine Clais, Kapandji, and Bonnie Baindbrigre Cohen, among many others, bring scientific rigor to our vision of dance training and movement pedagogy in general.
